3. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1 Introduction
The methodology for this thesis is described in this Chapter in the form of three major integrated themes, the methods selected, the justification of that choice as being the most appropriate to answer the research question, and considerable focus on the data gathering and analysis techniques. The well established model of research methodology, the research onion (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, 2009), is employed as a framework to make sure that a systematic and comprehensive approach to selecting and explaining the most appropriate methodology is utilised for this study; the model is shown in figure 1.
